Peanut is my 10-year-old chihuahua. Since 2017, he and I have been riding, wrenching, camping, and hanging out together. We’ve only been apart for two nights. He’s my constant companion.
River Dog
Peanut grew up on the shores of the Colorado River in Bullhead City, Arizona. He loves getting wet, getting me wet, chasing ducks, and going fishing.
Peanut’s Great Escape

That night, Peanut climbed Roxanne’s fence and found his way to my house, some seven or eight blocks away. He’d never been to my place, but that didn’t deter the little guy. He gave two short swipes at my door, and I opened it to investigate the noise.
After several more great escapes, Roxanne finally said, “Aw, f**k it, he’s your DOG now!”
Damn right, he is!
Peanut Loves The Dirt
In 2021, we bought a new Pan America Special to travel the world less traveled. We put on thousands of miles on the Arizona and Utah backroads.
Peanut Loves Working in the Garage
Peanut licks his chops when it comes time to wrench on the bikes. I still can’t train him to fetch a tool or bring me a beer.
He’s his own man.
Peanut is a Great Little Camper
Peanut is a great camp companion. He packs light, is always ready to go, and doesn’t complain about the food.
He’s even okay with my bad habits.
Peanut and Ride to Camp
I like to ride. Peanut likes to ride. And we both love to camp.
Our Ride to Camp project seemed like the natural thing to do to honor our adventurous spirit. Peanut gets to see, smell, and do things he’d never experience being Roxanne’s lap dog.
