CYMULA Memory Foam Mattress inside a Night Cat Camping Cot.

Finding the perfect sleeping pad for motorcycle camping isn’t easy. It must be compact, comfortable, durable, and warm enough for chilly nights. The CYMULA Memory Foam Mattress delivers on all these fronts, making it a standout option for campers seeking a space-saving yet supportive camp pad.

After switching to this self-inflating pad, I’ve been impressed by its portability, plush memory foam comfort, and reliable insulation. Here’s why it’s earned a permanent spot in my camping gear.

The The CYMULA Memory Foam Mattress is compact, comfortable, durable, and warm on chilly nights.

Why Comfort Matters

Long days on the motorcycle can leave your body sore and fatigued, making a comfortable sleeping pad essential for recovery. The CYMULA Memory Foam Mattress provides 4 inches of plush support, helping your body relax and recharge after hours in the saddle.

An uncomfortable night’s sleep can leave you waking up stiff and sore, making it harder to face another day of riding. This camp pad cushions you from uneven ground or a firm cot, ensuring you wake up refreshed and ready to tackle your next adventure.

Motorcycle camping does not need to be uncomfortable. Pack an efficient camp kitchen and a comfortable sleeping system, and you’ll be all set.

Why I Chose the CYMULA Memory Foam Mattress

The biggest reason I switched to the CYMULA pad was its compact design. It packs to half the size of my foam pad, leaving extra room on top of my GIVI Trekker Outback Top Case for other essentials, like my sleeping bag, blanket, and pillow.

I didn’t expect how much more comfortable it would be than my thick, cushy foam pad. The memory foam core offers superior cushioning and support compared to my foam pad, and it insulates well enough to keep me warm even on nights when temperatures drop into the low 30s.

Another key factor was durability. After experiencing a puncture with my Klymit Static V Luxe Sleeping Pad, I needed a more reliable option. The CYMULA pad has held up flawlessly after multiple trips, and I haven’t seen any reviews mentioning punctures.

What Sets the CYMULA Pad Apart

Compact and Packable Design

The CYMULA pad’s ability to pack down small is a game-changer for motorcycle camping. Its size makes it easy to fit into my 60-liter dry bag without sacrificing comfort. It takes up half the room of my foam pad, but it’s twice the bulk of my Klymit Static V Luxe Sleeping Pad.

Plush Memory Foam Comfort

The 4-inch memory foam layer provides excellent support, whether you’re sleeping on your back or side. It feels more like a luxury mattress than a typical camping pad, offering a level of comfort that’s hard to beat.

Reliable Insulation

The foam core not only adds cushioning but also insulates against cold ground. On a recent trip, I paired it with my Kelty Galactic 30 Sleeping Bag and Get Out Gear Down Camping Blanket and stayed warm through a 30°F night.

Easy Inflation and Deflation

Inflating the pad is straightforward, thanks to the carrying bag that doubles as an inflation sack. The process takes a few minutes but isn’t complicated. Deflation and packing are equally simple, and the pad rolls up compactly for storage.

Exceptional Durability

Unlike my Klymit Static V Luxe, which punctured during use, the CYMULA pad has shown no wear or damage. Its durable materials give me confidence that it will last for many future trips.

Where It Could Be Better

While the CYMULA pad is an excellent choice overall, it has a couple of minor drawbacks:

  • Inflation Takes Time
The self-inflating feature works well, but fully inflating the pad with the sack can take a few minutes. It reminds me of the water safety class I took in Navy boot camp. They taught us to tie the legs of our dungarees and slap the waistband on the water to inflate. You do the same with the CYMULA mattress carrying bag. You slap the bag full of air and push it into the mattress. Ingenious.
  • Narrower Width
At 25 inches wide, the CYMULA pad is narrower than the Klymit Static V Luxe (30 inches). Side sleepers who prefer extra room may find this less spacious. They make a 30″ wide model, but that’s too wide to stuff in my Gonex 60 Liter Dry Duffel Bag.

My Experience with the CYMULA Memory Foam Mattress

On my first trip with the CYMULA pad, I immediately noticed the difference in comfort. The memory foam cushioning felt like a luxury upgrade, and the pad provided excellent support even on uneven ground.

Durability has also been a standout feature. After dealing with a puncture in my Klymit Static V Luxe, I was skeptical about inflatable pads. The CYMULA pad, however, has proven itself to be far more reliable.

Packing it up was simple, and its compact size fit perfectly in my top case alongside other camping gear. This pad is a game-changer for motorcycle camping, where every inch of space matters.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Packs down to half the size of traditional foam pads.
  • 4-inch memory foam provides superior comfort and support.
  • Foam core insulation keeps you warm on cold nights.
  • Carrying bag doubles as an inflation sack.
  • Durable construction resists punctures and wear.
  • Great price (I paid around $88).

Cons:

  • Inflation process takes a few minutes (but way faster than blowing it up by mouth).
  • It is narrower than more compact pads, like my Klymit Static V Luxe. But I think that’s a reasonable tradeoff for comfort.

Final Thoughts

The CYMULA Memory Foam Mattress is an outstanding choice for motorcycle campers who value comfort, durability, and compact gear. Its plush memory foam core, reliable insulation, and compact design make it a top-tier camp pad for three-season camping.

After a long day of riding, this pad offers the support and warmth your body needs to recharge. While it takes a bit of time to inflate and isn’t as wide as some alternatives, its durability and comfort make it a worthy upgrade for any camping setup.
